Announcement of Delegation Trips to Mongolia
The Ulaanbaatar Denver Sister Cities Committee is pleased to announce its schedule of 2010 Delegation Trips to Mongolia. These small group trips each year provide extraordinary adventures for our delegation members. They also are a vital component of our ongoing Sister City relationship between Denver and Ulaanbaatar. Has it been your dream to gallop across the Mongolian steppe as the great If so, think about joining us on one of our Delegation trips that are organized around cultural, environmental and cross-cultural principles. Most of our past delegates say that the experiences they had on these trips were unlike any that they had before. The country of Mongolia and a highly experienced team of guides will draw you into both an ancient and modern Central Asian world that is both starkly beautiful and culturally fascinating. 2010 Trips
If interest warrants, we will also offer a second Fall Delegation Trip. Like the summer trip this too will include a short stay in Ulaanbaatar with the brief attendance at the North America-Mongolia Business Council Annual Investors Conference, 4-wheel travel through Mongolia’s steppes and several nights at Three Camel Lodge. This trip will be approximately 12 days and its start date currently is anticipated to be in mid to late September. For both our Summer and Fall trips, delegates will be encouraged to join us for a two day stay in Beijing, China on our way to Mongolia. These trips are custom designed for the experienced adventurer by our Sister City Committee and our travel partner Nomadic Expeditions. Nomadic Expeditions is a leading Mongolian travel company and is a member of major Mongolian and worldwide adventure and travel associations. For more information about Nomadic and their Three Camel Lodge, I encourage you to visit www.Nomadicexpeditions.com and www.threecamellodge.com. Applications Applications for the Summer Delegation Trip must be received by our office by April 1st while applications for the Fall Delegation Trip are welcomed any time up to May 31st. You can apply by calling or faxing our Sister Cities Committee office or contacting me at wagenlander@wagenlander.com. We and Nomadic will take it from there. In addition to getting information from you, we will deliver a full itinerary, trip dates, a description of costs and explanation of how we choose our delegates. A goal of ours has always been to develop delegations that are a good mix of interesting and experienced travelers and we generally do not exceed 10 to 12 people per trip. All selected delegates will be asked to become members of Denver Sister Cities International, Inc., as well as agree during the trip to be ambassadors of the City and County of Denver, our Committee and our Committee’s programs. Trips Next Year Ulaanbaatar Denver Sister Cities Committee and Nomadic Expeditions are already organizing next year’s trips as well, so if you cannot join us this year please keep this in mind. Current plans are for me to lead a Fall Delegation Trip in 2011 and we are arranging a separate additional college student/young adult countryside expeditionary trip earlier in the summer. If you or someone you know is interested in either of these trips, we encourage you to contact us so we can place your name on our Interested Traveler Lists. These trips may fill up early and we will contact people in the order we receive their notices of interest. Whether it is this year or next, if you’re interested in a truly extraordinary and customized Mongolian adventure, please contact us now. The people and lands of Mongolia await. Jim Wagenlander
